Carrera-son Captain Jack wins Grand Prix Hardelot

Offspring of our stallions delivered strong performances last weekend at the French shows in Hardelot and Cluny.

Captain Jack Z, bred by Anna Hoeve Horses from Lierop and a son of Carrera VDL, claimed victory in the 1.45m Grand Prix of Hardelot under Belgian rider Gilles Dunon. The pair produced two faultless rounds to secure the win.

In the 1.35m Grand Prix, Gandalf Z, a son of VDL Glasgow van ’t Merelsnest, finished in a creditable fourth place with French rider France de Borggraeve. Gandalf Z was bred by Albert Smit from Gilze.

A day earlier, there was already success in the seven-year-old final. Tripoli Cece, a son of Hardrock Z, stormed to victory in the 1.40m final under Baptiste Bohren. The BWP gelding was bred by Pauline Choain from Pouilly-sur-Serre.

Cluny also brought an excellent result. In the CSI2*, Malt, a son of Glenfiddich VDL, finished an impressive second in the 1.45m Grand Prix with French rider Enzo Chiarotto. Malt was bred by W. Goesten from Berkel-Enschot.
