Jewel's Comthago wins in Bevern the 1.40m

During the CSI1* competition in Bevern, Germany, several offspring of VDL stallions once again delivered impressive performances. With multiple victories at international level, the horses confirmed their quality, speed and attitude.

On Sunday, Comthago’s Jewel, a daughter of Comthago, secured a fine victory in the CSI1* two-phase class over 1.40m. British rider Zoe Potter rode the AES-bred mare clear through both phases and clocked the fastest time of the competition at 25.65 seconds. The Comthago daughter, bred by Michael Potter, had already secured third place in the 1.35m class.

A daughter of Brantzau also put in a strong performance in Bevern. Balbina N, ridden by Philip Loven, even recorded two international victories. On Thursday, the pair won the speed and clear round class over 1.30m with a clear round in 56.86 seconds. A day later, they secured another victory in the CSI1* two-phase class over 1.35m, where Balbina N remained clear once again and left the competition behind. Thomas Nilsson is the breeder of this successful Brantzau offspring.

In the young horse class, a VDL stallion also topped the rankings. Jatoki Z, a son of Jaloubet K, won the CSIYH1* class with German rider Alexandra Langer. The Zangersheide mare was bred by Langer Popp Alexandra Markus.
