The VDL offspring once again showed their best form last weekend at the prestigious *CSIO4 in Sopot (POL)**, with strong performances at various levels of the international competition.
The highlight came on Sunday in the *CSIO4 Grand Prix (1.60m)**, where Kirocco, the son of Zirocco Blue, jumped to an excellent third place under Portuguese rider Ricardo Benzinho Karle da Costa. The pair remained clear of faults in both the basic course and the jump-off, clocking a fast jump-off time of 43.05 seconds. Kirocco was bred by M.G.J. Luttikhuis-Boerrigter.
Earlier in the competition, Karonia L, a daughter of Harley, secured victory in the 1.50m LR D Grand Prix qualifier. Ridden by the Portuguese rider Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida, the pair remained clear and were unbeatable with a time of 64.47 seconds. Karonia L was bred by Th. Lemmers from Baexem.
VDL bloodlines were also successfully represented in the 1 Grand Prix (1.35m)*. Nice Star Elrite, also a descendant of Harley, jumped to an impressive sixth place with Hubert Polowczyk Jr. The Harley son was bred by B. Ellen. In addition, Onyva, a daughter of Pommerol de Muze, finished in a creditable fourth place with the Estonian rider Juri Sokolovski. P. van Kuyke is the breeder of this Pommerol de Muze son.
With these results, the VDL stallions have once again confirmed their worth at the highest international level and demonstrated that their offspring possess quality, ability and competitiveness.
