Mien-Viola (by Cohinoor) enjoyed a particularly successful weekend. With Logan Fiechter in the saddle, the mare won the CSIY-A Grand Prix 1.45m after a clear-round jump-off in 37.94 seconds. A few days earlier, the pair had already won the 1.40m class. Mien-Viola was bred by B. Derksen.
During the competitions in Vejer de la Frontera, Janeiro (by Arezzo) made a strong impression. Ridden by Ronnie Jones, he won the CSI4 Medium Tour 1.35m* with a clear round in 34.26 seconds. Janeiro was bred by Frans van Boxtel from Volkel.
In the CSI4 Small Tour 1.40m*, victory went to La Vie Est D'Or (by Dakar) with Glain Watkin Jones. The pair rode clear and clocked a fast time of 33.82 seconds. The daughter of Dakar was bred by H.V. Boertjes.
There was also success for Maserati WS (by Etoulon). Riden by Jonathon Buxton, he won the CSI4 Medium Tour 1.30m* with a clear round in 36.47 seconds. Maserati WS was bred by R. Fabrie & A.M. Meester. The pair also managed to finish in 2nd place the following day.
Young talent also made its mark. In a CSIYH class for 5-year-old horses, Varane v/h Hulstenhof (by Arezzo) jumped to victory with Maitane Rios Hernandez. The BWP horse was bred by Bernard Mols.
Fiona des Ibis (by Zirocco Blue), ridden by Julien Anquetin, also won a CSI4 Medium Tour 1.45m* class with a clear round in 58.33 seconds. This Selle Français mare was bred by Marie-Christine Djindjian and also finished fourth later in the week.
With this series of international victories and podium finishes, the offspring of VDL stallions once again confirm their quality and competitiveness on the international show jumping scene.
